Area churches will host Ground Hog Suppers

Get your tastebuds and your tummy ready this weekend! Both the Hugoton UMC men and Lone Star Friends Church will host their annual Ground Hog Suppers!
Start off your scrumptious weekend with offerings from Lone Star Friends Church Friday, January 30 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Lone Star Friends is located 14 miles east of Hugoton on Highway 51. Their menu includes sausage, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, salads and homemade pies. A free will donation will be gratefully accepted.

Lone Star’s supper is in its fifty-eighth year for 2015 and is anxious to serve all who wish to enjoy good food and great fellowship. Due to their fellowship hall addition, serving lines and seating are now available on the ground floor, with no troublesome stairs to navigate. For more information, you can visit Lone Star Friends Church page on Facebook, or call Pastor Gary Damron at 913-488-8424.

Hugoton United Methodist Men will continue the festivities Saturday, January 31 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Hall, Sixth and Monroe, in Hugoton. They will offer sausage, biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, sauerkraut and ribs and applesauce, as well as homemade pies. Sausage will be available for sale in bulk. A free will offering will also be accepted.

You are not done yet! Remember that Moscow’s United Methodist Church will host their supper Saturday, February 7 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at their church building. The Moscow Baptist Hillbilly Band will be there to entertain all those who want to enjoy yummy food, interesting people and great music.
As always, the community is invited to each of these Ground Hog Suppers. Hope to see you there!
