Whether or not it seems possible, Christmas is next week! Many businesses will adopt different hours to accommodate a busy holiday and allow their employees time with their families.
    Eating out will be off the menu for Christmas Day for sure. McDonald’s, Sonic, Pizza Hut, Ranchito, The Steakhouse, Subway, the Jet and Antlers will not be open December 25. McDonald’s and the Jet will close at 8:00 p.m. Christmas Eve. McDonalds will reopen December 26 with regular hours. The Jet will be closed Friday and reopen Saturday and Sunday. Sonic and The Steakhouse both plan to close at 5:00 p.m. December 24. Dominoes Grill will be closed Thursday, December 25 only.  Pizza Hut will close at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening and will open again Friday with regular hours. Ranchito Tex Mex plans to be closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Donut X-Press will have donuts only Wednesday, December 24 and will be closed Christmas Day. Donuts only will be available at Donut X-Press December 26 through New Year’s Eve. Antlers in Moscow will reopen December 27.
White’s Foodliner will close at 6:00 p.m. Christmas Eve and will reopen Friday with regular hours. Barb’s Den reported they will close for Christmas Day only. Twisted H Liquor will also be closed Thursday, December 25 and may close early for Christmas Eve. Presto, also known as “The Pantry, will be open regular hours throughout the holiday. Express Lane reported they will close at 6:00 p.m. Christmas Eve and will reopen at 10:00 a.m. Christmas morning. Moscow Store will close at 5:00 p.m. December 24 and will open again December 26. Rolla Corner Stop plans to be closed December 24 through Monday, December 29.
Better get your shopping done before the literal “last minute”, as nearly every retailer in Hugoton will be closed Christmas Day. Creative Specialties will close at 12:00 noon Christmas Eve, and will reopen Monday, December 29 with regular hours. They will reopen in the case of a funeral. Country Garden reported they will be closed Wednesday through Sunday. They’ll reopen at 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 29. Yardmaster will be open until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. They’ll be closed Christmas Day and will reopen Monday, December 29. Alco will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day. Make sure you grab extra batteries and stocking stuffers, as Dollar General will also be closed Christmas Day. The Hugoton Hermes office will be closed at 12:00 noon Wednesday, December 24 and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. Monday, December 29. Early deadline for the January 1, 2015 issue will be Wednesday, December 24 at 12:00 noon.
Stevens County Retail Pharmacy and Stevens County Medical Clinic will be open Wednesday, December 24 until 12:00 noon. They will both reopen Friday, December 26 and will be open for Saturday clinic hours. The Animal Health Center will be closed Christmas Day.
The Hugoton Area Chamber of Commerce plans to be closed December 25 and will open again Monday morning, December 29. Stevens County Courthouse, the City of Hugoton and the City of Moscow will all be closed Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26. First National Bank reported their doors and drive up will close at 12:00 noon Wednesday and will reopen Friday, December 26 with regular hours. Citizens State Bank will close at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon and will reopen Friday until 4:00 p.m. Pyramid Agency reports they will close at 12:00 noon Wednesday and will reopen Monday, December 29 with regular hours.
Showplace Video will be open for all you entertainment lovers, from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Christmas Day. Stop in with the family to get a popcorn, candy, a movie, and the “best soda in town” at Showplace Video. Don’t forget to stock up on reading material at the Stevens County Library, as they plan to close at 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve and reopen at 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 29. If you like physical activity more than mental, you’re in luck! The Hugoton Recreation Commission reported the gym will be open every day except Christmas. The Hugoton Senior Center will be closed Christmas Day and Friday, December 26.
Hopefully you’re up to date on your “honey-do” list, because Hi-Plains Lumber plans to be closed Christmas Day and reopen Monday with regular hours. Bultman, Inc. will close at 2:00 p.m. Christmas Eve and will reopen Monday. If you have to pray your plumbing will be okay with all the holiday guests, call Lin Goode and Company before they close December 24! They reported they will be closed December 25 and 26. American Implement will close at 12:00 noon Thursday and will reopen Friday.
If your loved one needs a gift certificate for tires, get out to Hugoton Tire and Bultman Tire before Christmas Day, as both will be closed December 25. Fortunately Bultman Tire will be open until 12:00 noon Christmas Eve for any tire needs, and will open again Friday with regular hours. Hugoton Tire will be open Friday.
Car break down? Hurry to Southwest Kansas Sales or NAPA Auto Parts Monday or Tuesday. Both locations will close early Christmas Eve and will remain closed through Christmas Day. Southwest Kansas Sales will be open with regular hours Friday, December 26. NAPA Auto Parts reported they will close at noon December 24 and will reopen December 26 for all your auto parts needs.
If your generosity knows no bounds, you may want to stop by Riley Chevrolet or Ghumm’s Auto Center early next week to pick out your new car before they close. Riley’s will close at 12:00 noon Wednesday and will reopen Friday morning. Ghumm’s will close at 12:00 noon Wednesday and will be open again Friday.
In case you or your loved ones need auto repairs – or upgrades – for Christmas, stop by Mick’s C&A Automotive before Wednesday afternoon. They will be closed until Monday, December 29. Ghumm’s Collision Center will be closed at 12:00 noon Wednesday until Friday morning.
All your insurance needs are hopefully taken care of – but if you’re a procrastinator, make sure to visit your agent before Christmas Eve! Jeff Ramsey’s Farm Bureau and Tanner Rindels’ Farm Bureau offices, will both be closed Wednesday until Monday, December 29. Ag First will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, but will reopen Friday for your convenience. Musgrove Insurance plans to close at 12:00 noon Wednesday and reopen Friday with regular hours. State Farm reports they will close at 1:00 p.m. Christmas Eve and will reopen Monday, December 29.
