The Stevens County Healthcare celebrated 75 years Thursday, June 19 with a block party.
The crowd that attended enjoyed lunch, bouncy houses, games, giveaways and lots of visiting with the staff of Stevens County Healthcare.
The Stevens County Hospital began in 1946 when the residents of Stevens County voted for bonds for a county hospital and in 1948 more funds were allocated to fund equipment and furnishings. In May 2001, Stevens County Hospital became a Critical Access Hospital (CAH). The United States Congress created this designation in 1997 to provide support for small, rural hospitals. Stevens County Hospital has continued to grow through the years.
Merlin and Betty Stout of Rolla expressed their enjoyment of the event. The couple thought the block party was a huge success.
