A Come and Go Reception for Jay McClure – National FFA Winner – will be Thursday, December 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Hugoton High School Cafeteria. There will be refreshments served. Come join in and celebrate the accomplishments of Jay with family and friends.

Friday, December 16 “Polar Express” will be shown at the High Plains Theatre at 7:00 p.m. The movie is sponsored by Edward Jones so it will be free admission. Pajamas are encouraged. Hot chocolate will be served in the concession stand.

Sunday, December 18 the Moscow Baptist Church will present a Christmas Cantata. The Cantata will start at 7:00 p.m. Come One and All and join in the magic of Christmas time!!!!

Thursday, December 22 there will be an Ugly Sweater Contest sponsored by Lynnie’s Nest starting at 6:50 p.m. in the High Plains Theatre. The contest will be before the showing of “Christmas Vacation”.

The movie will start at 7:00 p.m. and is sponsored by State Farm – Debbie Nordling. Present a State Farm ID card and get a free gift. Pizza by the slice will be served provided by Pizza Hut. All proceeds will go to the Theatre.

Kenn Neyland carries a rugged wooden cross on his shoulder for all who don’t have it in their lives. He has been dong it for eight years and is almost 85 years old! He asks for blessings for the towns he visits. He travels about 13 miles a day and has covered over half the state of Kansas from Wichita to Concordia and down over the south portion of the state. He visited Hugoton Thursday, walking up and down Main Street and was headed to Elkhart, Johnson and Ulysses after that. Then he will be back at home in Great Bend. He hands out bookmarks with the The Crossman’s Prayer printed on them and feels everyone should read it. It changed his life and he feels you can learn much from Jesus. He spent one whole year in Calforina and has traveled thousands of miles asking for blessings for the towns he visits. Some of the states he has carried it are Virginia, Georgia, Nebraska, Florida, New York, California, etc.
