Easter is here!! This weekend is predicted to be pretty nice – just a slight breeze of 10 or 15, not 45 or 50!! So get out enjoy all the special church services and events.
The annual Hugoton Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt Saturday! Starting time for the hunts: ages 0-3 at 10:00 a.m.; 4 to 6 at 10:05; and 7 to 9 at 10:10. Candy and other surprises will be hidden in the eggs!! The location is at Parsons Sports Complex – west of the 300 block of Washington. Everyone is invited! Come join in the fun. BUT!! Don’t be late!! Hunts start on time – they wait for no one.
Assembly of God plans to start the weekend with a handout of Care Packages Saturday. It will be at 200 S Main. The packages will go out to the first 75 vehicles – one package per vehicle – sorry no exceptions. Then Sunday they invite you to attend the Sunrise Services at Kim and Darren Clark’s located at 2650 Blvd P – Rolla. Driving directions are: from Hugoton – 12 and a half miles west on Road P (Depot Rd); from Rolla – four miles north on Highway 51 then two and a half miles east on Road P. The gathering will start at 6:30 a.m. Following the Sunrise Services Assembly of God will meet back at the church at 138 S Main for their regular services at 10:45. A grand Easter Egg Hunt will thrill the children after the services.
Bethel Friends Church at Eleventh and Jefferson will have Good Friday Services at 6:00 p.m. Then Sunday Sunrise Services will start at 6:00 a.m. at the Bethel Cemetery located at the corner of Road H and Road 19. Then back at the church at Eleventh and Jefferson a breakfast will be served at 9:00 a.m. followed by the service at 10:30 a.m.
First Christian Church at 600 S Van Buren will gather for an Easter Brunch at 9:30 a.m. They will have no Sunday School but will present regular services at 10:30 a.m.
Hugoton United Methodist Church will treat their children to a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt following the Sunday Services that start at 11:00 a.m.
Sovereign Redeemer Church located at Tenth and Adams will be offering Good Friday services at 7:00 p.m. Then bright and early Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. in the front yard, they will be presenting Sunrise Services. Regular services will take place at 10:30 a.m.
Moscow United Methodist Church will be having regular church services at 11:00 a.m. Then following up with a releasing of the balloons!
Lone Star Friends Church, 14 miles east of Hugoton, will be celebrating with a Sunrise Service at 8:00 a.m., a carry-in-breakfast at 8:45 and Easter Services at 10:00 a.m.
Whatever your choice is – get out and enjoy the hopefully beautiful day by worshiping the Lord. Also by appreciating being able to gather and visit with your neighbors, friends and relatives.
