The Senior Center will start the weekend off Thursday evening with Bingo Night at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:00.

High Plains Theatre will also fill your Thursday evening with the movie “True Grit”. It will start at 7:00 p.m. The whole family can come and enjoy since this western is rated G. You can get your tickets at www.highplainstheatre.com.

Janet’s Bridal and Boutique is inviting you to join them for their Christmas Open House at 1010 S Van Buren. Janet and her girls will be offering giveaways, drawings, some wonderful refreshments and of course shopping, Saturday November 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 20 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. “Come and Sip & Shop”and browse through all Janet’s beautiful new items. Find that extra special holiday outfit.

Following your big day of shopping, be sure to relax and enjoy an amazing dinner theater presented by Southwest Friends of the Arts. The play will be “Here’s Killing You, Kid” by James Daab and directed by Dave Piper and Angela Piper. Tickets are available at Yardmaster and are in limited quantity. The play will take place at the Memorial Hall Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and performance begins at 6:30.

Hugoton businesses are going to be celebrating Pink Friday, November 18. Some will keep celebrating Saturday, November 19 also. The businesses are urging people to “Shop Small First” and support your local businesses.

Participants include: Rebellious, Hugoton Drug, Lynnie’s Nest, Main Revelation, Sunflower Nutrition, Yardmaster Garden and Gifts, Pedaling Petals, Import Valles and The Hugoton Hermes. This year there will be several local people with their small businesses set up in the “Dr. Bundy building” at 515 S Main. These include, Natalie with The Sweet Room; Rustyn with RF Design; Jill with her Tupperware; and Shiloh’s Studio.

This year, also, a couple food trucks are going to join in the fun and be on hand to keep you from getting hungry or thirsty. Slim Pickins and The Tipsy Farmer will be parked on the east side of Sixth Street and Main.

Lynnie’s Nest will share her business establishment with a feature guest who will offer eye lashes, drinks and sunless tanner all during Friday afternoon.

You are sure to get some tasty healthy drinks from Sunflower Nutrition at 512 S Main. Starting at bright and early 7:00 a.m., Taylor will mix you up your own dreamed up concoction of her tasty ingredients or stir you up one of her wonderful recipes. Whatever – you can be sure it will be delicious and give you that extra boost so you can get to visiting all the shops and businesses open all day. Taylor will be on hand to keep you fixed up Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

At 9:00 a.m. a lot of the other businessess will start opening up for Pink Friday.

Yardmaster Garden & Gifts at Third and Main, along with Pink Friday, will be celebrating their Christmas Open House Friday and Saturday. Diane and her crew will open up Friday and Saturday at 9:00 a.m. so you can come in and see their beautiful array of items. Garden or gifts – you are sure to find the perfect item. Diane advises they will have some specials, refreshments and samples for tasting, and a drawing for a gift certificate. If you are looking for that Elf on the Shelf, they have them. Yardmaster’s hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Diane says “Come visit our Winter Wonderland and catch the Christmas Spirit”.

Hugoton Drug on the corner of Sixth and Main will open Friday at 9:00 a.m. and be there until 5:30 p.m. Saturday’s hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. The Hugoton Drug girls have done a beautiful job of decorating. They feature such a wide variety of gorgeous gifts and decorations you are sure to find a special something for someone on your list. Of course they also have those all important meds you may be searching for, at 531 S Main.

Lynnie’s Nest is also a place you can start out early Friday morning. Erica advises that she will open her doors at 9:00 a.m. Friday and be open until 8:00 p.m. Saturday she will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Her cute little floral and art studio offers fresh flowers, live plants, candles, home decor, meats and cheeses, jewelry and all kinds of gift items for you to choose from. Lynnie’s Nest is located at 614 S Main. And don’t forget her featured guest Friday afternoon.

Pedaling Petals is on the corner of Main and Fifth Street – 428 S Main. Millie’s cute little shop is filled with wonderful flowers and decorations for the holidays. Especially for Pink Friday Millie and her crew will be offering mints and cookies while you browse through all her beautiful creations. She will be open Friday only from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Rebellious Boutique is a special little boutique that offers just what you are needing for the holidays from manis to pedis or possibly a special holiday outfit is what you are in search of. Kendra says they will be open Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Friday at 12:00 Noon Main Revelation will open up. Beth and Pam will be showing off their huge collection of unique items they brought home from market recently. They have probably whatever you can think of for that special person from jewelry, shoes, clothing items, your favorite sports items, sunglasses and beautiful tumblers. Main Revelation will be open Friday from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It’s not all about sports, but if it is, they have it or they will make it.

Import Valles is joining in the fun Friday and Saturday at 610 S Main. Selene advises that they will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. both days. They will be offering treats, drawings, gift certificates and 50% off some items!

Then there is the “Dr. Bundy Building” at 515 S Main, the two story building across the street from Sunflower Nutrition. Be sure not to pass this up. Inside is a surprising group of Hugoton’s local small businesses.

Natalie Henrickson will have The Sweet Room set up. She will be offering her wonderful pies – pumpkin and pecan to name a few, cheesecakes of different sizes and flavors and apple and pear tarts. Yum! She is the most amazing cook!!

Rustyn Fillmore has a new business – RF Design. Rustyn can fix you up with about any idea you can think of for gifts or business needs. She can put your logo or custom design on most anything. Keychains, hats shirts, cups, towels – you name it. Be sure to check what specials and possible giveaways she will be doing. She will be there Friday from noon to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

When did you check out the latest Tupperware? Jill Smith will be set up so you can pick out the perfect piece of that fabulous line of goodies. Drop in and visit with Jill from noon to 7:00 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Oh that’s not all for the Bundy Building. Shiloh’s Studio will be set up with her amazing handmade jewelry. Just the thing for that hard to find for person on your gift list. And don’t forget yourself!!! She will be there Friday from noon to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Food Trucks!! Can’t forget the food trucks! Slim Pickins is becoming a well known eating place. Visit Tina and Scott for some of that delicious food they serve up. Guarantee you will not go away hungry. Wonderful food – wonderful people.

Then be sure to try some of Brandi Lahey’s items at Tipsy Farmer. She advises some of these include a 36 oz. Margarita pitcher, apple cider mules, a fall fest drink, hot cocoa toddies and special gift baskets. Don’t miss out!! Brandi is sure to fix you up with something just right for the day.

You never know what might get added into that basket! But be sure to notice that some of these businesses will not be open Saturday.
