Hugoton businesses are reporting no early sales in the wee hours of “Black Friday” like some big cities are advertising, but there are some good local deals going on during the big After-Thanksgiving weekend. So stick around your hometown and support your local friends and neighbors. They will appreciate your business so much more than those out-of-town chains and so forth.
Also be sure to join your friends and neighbors in front of the Chamber Office Friday, November 25. The Santa Committee will be meeting for Hugoton’s Annual Christmas Caroling! Of course the Santa Committee will be offering their usual delicious warming hot chocolate sure to hit the spot and their tempting cookies. They are aiming for 6:00 p.m. at 630 S Main. It’s sure to be a good time.

Main Revelation, LLC will be open Tuesday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., closed Thanksgiving Day then back Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They have new inventory and Specials in Store!!
Lynnie’s Nest will be open Wednesday regular hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed for lunch. Erica will close for Thanksgiving then reopen Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The new Peddling Petals will be open Tuesday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Then Millie advises they will be closed until Monday morning.
Alisha at the Chamber Office has put in this issue of The Hermes the Chamber of Commerce SHOPPING PASSPORT that you can clip out and get marked/punched at local stores when making a minimum of $10 purchases. When your passport gets ten marks it can be turned in at the Chamber and be entered in the big drawing, Also you can stop by the Chamber Office to pick up your free shopping tote! Be sure to see the ad in this paper.
For your other shopping needs, Dollar General’s plans are to have regular hours Wednesday. They will be open Thursday, Thanksgiving Day from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Janet’s Bridal will be there for you to pick up some of those special Christmas presents or outfits Wednesday until 2:00 p.m. and then she will be closed until Friday, when she will go back to her regular hours.
If you plan to build or repair something you better check in at Hi-Plains early because they plan to take a little rest and be closed Thursday and not reopen until Monday morning.
Flatlanders plans to be open for your needs. They do plan to close early Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., be closed for Thanksgiving, then reopen Friday at 8:00 a.m.
If you want to pick up some John Deere items for Christmas or need some repairs – get’er done – because American Implement plans to be open Wednesday regular hours but then close until Monday morning.
Ghumm’s Auto Center will be available for your auto needs and repairs Wednesday but will be closed Thursday until Monday morning.
Speaking of some repairs, Bultman Tire would love to have your business and will be open to help you out Monday through Wednesday. They will close for Thanksgiving then reopen Friday and Saturday regular hours.
You need to start thinking about mailing those Christmas presents off you know. The Post Office will be open except for Thanksgiving Day.
Amy at the Stevens County Courthouse advises they will be closed Thursday and Friday. They will be there Wednesday regular hours and of course back open regular hours Monday morning.
What if you are needing those prescriptions refilled? Hugoton Drug will be open Wednesday regular hours, closed Thursday then open Friday regular hours at 9:00 a.m. and Saturday from 9:00 until noon.
Stevens County Pharmacy will close a little early Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. They will close Thanksgiving then open Friday at 9:00 a.m. and Saturday from 9:00 until noon.
Of course if you need to do some laundry, you are in luck, Main Street Laundry at 218 S. Main will have regular hours all week long.
Now if it is a meal you are looking for on Thanksgiving Day in the town of Hugoton – you are in trouble. Daylight Donut advises they will be open their regular hours all week including Thanksgiving Day. They close at noon though, so if you need something get there quick. All the other Hugoton restaurants and fast food places are going to be closed Thursday.
Acosta’s Nieto’s Family Restaurant, Subway, Pizza Hut, Bonnie & Clyde’s Grill & Sports Grill, McDonald’s and China will all be back open Friday with their regular hours.
Jet Drive In plans to really enjoy the holiday and be closed until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning with regular hours.
Taylor advises Sunflower Nutrition will be open Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Then she will be closed until Monday morning regular hours.
The Senior Center will not be serving meals Thursday and Friday, and all their activities are canceled for those two days. Saturday the card players will be back at it.
Twisted H Liquor plans to close regular hours Wednesday at 9:45 p.m., be closed Thanksgiving Day and reopen Friday at 9:00 a.m.
Carter’s Country Super Center will be at your service all day Wednesday, and from 8:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. They will be back open with regular hours again Friday.
Need to pick up some cash before the big weekend or maybe tuck some away for safe keeping from the big weekend? Equity will be there for you with regular hours Wednesday and Friday and be closed Thanksgiving Day. Citizens State Bank plans to close a little early Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. then enjoy their Thanksgiving Day with their loved ones. They plan to close early Friday at 3:00 p.m. The new Dream Bank will be closed Thursday then back to normal Friday from 9:00 to 5:00.
The local convenience stores will be open regular hours Thursday, Thanksgiving Day if you would happen to need something including fuel for you or your vehicle. Rolla Corner Stop will be open regular hours Wednesday, close two hours early Thursday, then back to regular hours Friday.
Slim Pickins in Moscow will be open 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. Tina and Scott and their crew will be serving that wonderful Community Meal again this year Thanksgiving Day and close a little early at 4:00 p.m. Then back to regular hours Friday.
As for The Hugoton Hermes – we will have the paper out in office, the post office and in stores Tuesday. Our office will be open Wednesday. Then we plan to take off Thursday and Friday to enjoy time with our loved ones.
