In Sub-State play the Lady Eagles took the court at Larned Middle School.  For the first game of the tournament Hugoton defeated Larned Lady Indians 55-24. For the Sub-State finals, they were evenly matched against the second-seeded Pratt Greenbacks, a comparable opponent in height and athleticism. Hugoton scraped out a 50-47 victory after an edge-of-your-seat contest. The girls will play in state competition Thursday, March 12 at 3:00 p.m. in Hartman Arena against Meridan-Jefferson West. In the semi-finals of Sub-State play Thursday evening at Fowler, Moscow girls were victorious over Pawnee Heights 61-12. The Lady Wildcats were led by Kelsi Mueller, scoring 18 points in the victory. Moscow, with a 19-2 record, went on to play Rolla (14-5) in Championship play. The first-ranked Moscow Lady Wildcats basketball team will play Wednesday, March 11 in State play at 6:30 p.m. at Dodge City at the United Wireless Arena. They will play Sylvan-Lucas Unified. If they win, they will play Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the State finals.
